Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) is the primary provider of comprehensive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in the Durham area. DCRC provides 24-hour help lines in English and Spanish, crisis intervention services, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and numerous other services for victims, survivors, and their families. DCRC also offers extensive outreach to the community to let potential clients know of our services. We provide workshops and training to allied professionals, faith-based groups, schools, and businesses.
Over the years, DCRC has helped countless adults and children safely escape and recover from violent and abusive situations. The mission of DCRC is important to our community. In FY 2017-18 we sheltered 178 adults and 97 children; but we also had to direct 140 individuals to other shelters because we did not have enough space. The need in our community exists and we need to accommodate that need. This event is one way we can reach that goal together. While we have accomplished a great deal, there is more to be done and with your support we can meet the demand and do even more.
