Send Urban Youth to Summer Camp!


Urban Hope is raising up generations of young heroes - who are beating the odds by the grace of God - through creating safe places in our neighborhood to grow together into wholeness.


Urban Hope runs a summer camp for inner-city youth living in the Walltown neighborhood in Durham, NC.  Every year, some of the youth would love to come to camp but need financial assistance.

Be a part of investing in the lives of these talented young people: donate today to the camp scholarship fund!


Here's how you can join us:
1) Donate online OR mail a check (preferred method).  Make the che
ck out to "The Volunteer Center of Durham - Great Human Race" with "Urban Hope" written on the memo line.  Mail it to:

2) Become an Urban Hope advocate!  Start your own fundraising page (click on the orange "be a fundraiser" button under the "make a donation" section) and raise money for Urban Hope.  Tell your co-workers, friends and family about Urban Hope.

3) Walk with us!  Join us on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 8:30 am at the Northgate Mall to walk with Urban Hope staff, youth, volunteers and friends.  Meet the "Urban Hope family" and walk through the Walltown neighborhood!
 
Activities at the Urban Hope Summer Camp:
Financial literacy training teaches youth the importance of saving, how to use banking accounts and credit, how to spend money wisely, and the importance of giving to others.
Entrepreneurship challenges encourage the youth create ways to use their skills and resources to earn money.  Youth learn to be productive citizens who work hard and give back to their community.
Recreation
Local field trips
Digital literacy training familiarizes youth with computer programs and builds the technological skills needed for a job.
Small business field trips give youth the chance to learn from local African-American entrepreneurs.
Bible studies and other activities for spiritual growth
