The Ronald McDonald House of Durham offers a comforting home away from home and a community of support for seriously ill children and their families.  The House operates two programs to support families in their time of need:  a housing program for families who must travel long distances for their children to receive medical treatment, as well as Family Room Programs in Duke Medical Center and WakeMed Children's Hospital to provide in hospital support for families that is just steps away from their child's hospital bedside. 

Each year the Ronald McDonald House of Durham has maintained an average occupancy rate of 97.5% in its 52 rooms and suites.  In 2012 the House hosted over 1,200 family visits and in 2013, the House is expected to help over 1,500 families.  The House requests a $10 donation per night for each room and a $15 donation per night for long-term suites.  My goal is to raise $600, which would sponsor one room for two months.
