How to become a fundraiser

All Agencies Have Raised:

$15,800

I am a fundraiser for

Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association

Raised: $0Remaining: $700

ECWA may be a small organization but we dream big and work hard! I have never met such a big group of volunteers who are so committed to their urban creek and the importance of creating open space in downtown Durham. And when I see their passion at work it is hard not to join right in! That is why I am honored to work for ECWA and why I am excited about walking in this 5-k fundraiser!

Please cheer me and Liana on with a donation to ECWA!

Together we can protect land along the creek, restore native habitat, and connect people with nature throughout the watershed.

We have secured an anonymous match up to $3,000. Any donation you make will go twice as far! No amount is too small!

Thank you!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ellerbe Creek and its watershed provide habitat for many plant, bird and wildlife species, while offering an unexpected encounter with nature's beauty within Durham. The Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association (ECWA) has protected 340 acres critical to the creek's health by converting degraded urban lands into nature preserves. Ellerbe Creek flows into Falls Lake - the water supply for over 1/2 million people, a vibrant recreation spot and home to even more flora and wildlife. We're protecting and restoring Ellerbe Creek for the people of Durham, our downstream neighbors, and it's natural inhabitants!

What ECWA does with your generous contributions:

  • Partner with the City of Durham and other environmental organizations to improve water quality by installing rain gardens and rain water cisterns

  • Protect the creek and its habitat by managing natural preserves across the urban watershed

  • Connect Durham neighbors by creating a network of preserves and trails, hosting nature hikes, and organizing volunteer workdays and clean-ups

Introduce children to the creek and it’s ecology through relationships with schools and other educators, as well as our own Family Explorers Club

Thank you for supporting me and ECWA through the Great Human Race!
