Durham Center for Senior Life
The mission of the Durham Center for Senior Life is "Enhancing the lives of older adults through education, recreation, nutrition and social services in welcoming community settings." The Center provides a wide array of programs and services (most of which are free to the seniors fifty-five and older) to the growing population of seniors in our community. It serves as a home away from home to an average of two-hundred and fifty seniors on a daily basis.
Our organization has grown from being just the place where seniors come to play to also be a lifeline for those in need. In the next 10 years, there is projected to be an over 40% increase in the number of residents of Durham County who are 60+ years of age, so there will be an increased need for the services we provide. The Center depends on your generous support to continue providing the much-needed services available to older adults in our community.
