I am fundraising for
Independent Animal Rescue
Pictured below are before-and-after photos of our sweet 15-year-old Bijou (https://animalrescue.net/D-19-022)--one of our recent rescues--when she was first taken to a local shelter and how she looks now, after the foster had her groomed! The top right inset photo is of our wonderful one-year-old Usagi (https://animalrescue.net/D-18-031).
So many people volunteer their time and energy to help IAR. Here are just four:
Denise Heflin (a chiropractor) is head of the IAR dog team and dog foster and mentor, responds to hundreds of questions and issues, coordinates with local shelters to bring dogs into the program, helps with rescues, and stays up til all hours every night dealing with situations and sending out emails (5 to 10 daily) about dogs and puppies desperately in need of assistance along with help needed within IAR.
Laurie LaBean (a massage therapist) is one of our foster liaisons, a dog foster and mentor, runs our Virtual Facility program, drives around 3 counties to help and walk dogs, and, like, Denise, responds to hundreds of questions and issues, and deals with emergency situations.
Rachel Simon (development and membership associate for a Chapel Hill nonprofit) is a dog foster and mentor, and has two of her own dogs. Rachel has fostered 27 dogs for IAR! If you go to any of our dog adoption events, you will see her there with a current foster or two!
Photographer Sara Nicholson spends hundreds of hours taking photos of our dogs at our events and at fosters' homes.
Thank you so much for helping us to continue our work!
