Hello! Becca and Elissa here, and we're Team Vera!
Vera is the literacy and math teacher in Ghana. Some days she travels up to 3 hours with her 1 year old son to make it to ABAN, still always with a smile and passion to get teaching! The apprentices vary in their education level, some have been to Junior Highl, some have never been to school at all! But by the time the apprentices graduate, they all have a basic understanding of English and math!
We're running for Vera because she teaches the girls essential skills that open up opportunities for them after they graduate ABAN's program!
