CWS Durham has resettled almost 2,000 refugees here in the Triangle since opening in 2009. Our mission is to welcome these new neighbors and help them build a home here in North Carolina after being uprooted from their home countries.
Building a new life after years of waiting takes deep courage, dedication and resilience. Our staff and volunteers work together to remove barriers and expand opportunity for refugees and immigrants in our communities.
We provide support for newly-arrived refugees from the day they set foot at RDU airport, walking alongside them as they build their lives in the U.S. We're there for first days of school, for building resume and job skills, for applications to become U.S. citizens, and dozens of other milestones!
Our office provides empowerment-focused case management services, employment placement and training, civic engagement programs and immigration legal services.
